"This film is so inspirational, i just love it! The best part is when the truck driver says he wants to give it a go too and you see the two of them juicing away...this just made me cry...what a story! If you are looking for additional motivation to get on track with your health this is the film for you!"
- Laurentine ten Bosch, Producer / Director 'Food Matters' and 'Hungry For Change'

If Joe Did It So Can You!

100 pounds overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe Cross is at the end of his rope and the end of his hope. In the mirror he saw a 310lb man whose gut was bigger than a beach ball and a path, laid out before him that wouldn’t end well— with one foot already in the grave, the other wasn’t far behind. FAT, SICK & NEARLY DEAD is an inspiring film that chronicles Joe’s personal mission to regain his health.

With doctors and conventional medicines unable to help long-term, Joe turns to the only option left, the body’s ability to heal itself. He trades in the junk food and hits the road with juicer and generator in tow, vowing only to drink fresh fruit and vegetable juice for the next 60 days. Across 3,000 miles Joe has one goal in mind: To get off his pills and achieve a balanced lifestyle.

While talking to more than 500 Americans about food, health and longevity, it’s at a truck stop in Arizona where Joe meets a truck driver who suffers from the same rare condition. Phil Staples is morbidly obese weighing in at 429 lbs, a cheeseburger away from a heart-attack. As Joe is recovering his health, Phil begins his own epic journey to get well.

What emerges is nothing short of amazing – an inspiring tale of healing and human connection. Part road trip, part self-help manifesto, FAT, SICK & NEARLY DEAD defies the traditional documentary format to present an unconventional and uplifting story of two men from different worlds who each realize that the only person who can save them is themselves.

"The documentary made me laugh and it made me cry. You truly touched peoples lives and were a catalyst that led them to make positive changes. I am glad to have met you and proud to know you. Your story will inspire so many people." - Melanie W., New York, NY

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

  • 'It is remarkable how well your body functions on juice alone! Shows how much we really over eat! I get sick of people voicing their concerns about how it's unhealthy to do this and that it may be dangerous, when I am sitting infront of them with clear complexion, shiny eyes a sense of calm and serenity and a heap of energy. How much more proof do they need? This experience changed me for the better and I am proud I had the will power to do it. If Joe and Phil could do it for 60 days, I can find the will power to do it for 15 days. Joe and Phil you are an inspiration. All the best everyone this reboot is truly worth it.'- Alyssa L. - Sydney, Aust.

  • 'What an amazing film Joe, congratulations. Imagine if everyone who saw 'Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead' could turn their life around like Phil, he is so courageous and an inspiration to us all. Your film will certainly help make the world a healthier place, one vegetable at a time!. I know what I'll be buying my hubby for his birthday next month!'- Hadley B. - Sydney, Aust.
  • 'To me this is not an end, but really a beginning. I did not expect this to change much more than my eating habits for a few days ... boy was I wrong! This has changed every aspect for me, energy, playing with my kids, realizing just how boring TV really is and how much time was wasted watching it! There was a whole life out there waiting for me to jump back in and reboot helped me do that, so thank you'- Lisa M. - Nanuet, NY

Rebox does not, and I don't have Netflix I may have to break down and buy it. BTW, is there any way to get notified if foollw up comments get posted after I comment on a post, say via email? I am checking the box below (which I thought I have done in the
past) so could you kindly comment again on this thread to test? Thanks!

Fantastic, but chronic hives? What allergy / sensitivity testing have you done? I've only seen the trailer so maybe this is all answered in the film, but I've totally recovered my health by cutting out grains and dairy. I guess if you have hives you can
tell what you react to when you add foods back in after a juice fast.

Born in 1945, a healthier era, I've watched this madness (toxic, addictive food chain/pharma mafia, all making billions) happen over time! Your film is brilliant! Bravo! You're spot on! The AMA/FDA must hate you. You (and Phil) are the model for wellness
via nature and a juicer. Your film speaks to everyone so simply and clearly with the two of you morphing right before our eyes. You've made this great grandmother very happy. We must make change happen for the children. There's something unnaturally off balance
when the stats tell me my grand children's life spans are going to be shorter than their grandmothers. Thank you so much for making this film. I'm posting it everywhere and often.

I first saw Joe's doco on tele one night. I couldnt sleep because the bad food I was eating kept me awake.Joe inspired me to buy a juicer (cold press) and off I went. I'm feeling fantastic; the worms love the leftovers and I also make patties with the
left overs for my dog; mixed with mince, yeast flakes, garlic vit c powder. Needless to say happy healthy me, my dog, my worms. I lived on juice only for 10 days when my body told me I needed more. Thankyou Joe, your dvd has been passed on to many sick , but
now healthy bodies.

yes. you are very limited to the jobs you can get if you are fat. no mttear what, there will always be discrimination against fat people. sorry, but it is the truth. people will automatically assume you are lazy.jobs you can get. overnight stocking at
supermarkets and such, cause you aren't "on display". telemarketing for the same reason. overnight at a hotel, cause of limited people for overnight jobs.i would suggest going and working as a truck unloader at walmart. it is in the back, so your size won't
be a "display" issue. plus it will give you a workout. i lost a lot of weight unloading trucks when i was younger. it isn't too hard of work, there's just a lot of lifting boxes. they aren't too heavy, but you will lift enough to lost weight. it is like getting
paid to work out.
